Sales data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The Top Heatseekers chart lists the best-selling titles by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the top 100 of The Billboard 200 chart. When an album reaches this level, the album and the artist's subsequent albums are immediately ineligible to appear on the Top Heatseekers chart. The Regional Heatseekers charts track the top-selling Heatseeker-eligible titles in eight different U.S. regions as defined by Nielsen SoundScan. The are the following: Northeast (MA, ME, NH, VT, RI, CT), Middle Atlantic (NY, NJ, PA), East North Central (OH, IL, IN,MI, WI), West North Central (MN, IA, MO, MD, SD, NE, KS), South Atlantic (DE, MD, DC, VA, WV, NC, SC, GA, FL) South Central (KY, TN, AL, MS, AR, LA, OK, TX), Mountain (MT, ID, WY, CO, NM, AX, UT, NV), Pacific (WA, OR, CA, AK, HA).

Most tape prices, and CD prices of BMG and WEA labels, are suggested lists. Tape prices marked EQ, and all other CD prices, are equivalent prices, which are projected from wholesale prices.
