Minority Rules is the debut album by Jackonville’s Whole Wheat Bread. The album was produced by Darian Rundall (Pennywise, Yellowcard) and features eleven blistering punk anthems, plus three bonus tracks by WWB’s hip-hop alter egos Nasty Nigga Fleetwood, DJ Dirtee Skeet and Mr. Whitefolks. The album showcases the band’s traditional punk influences, which range from Bad Brains to Green Day and Rancid. Filled with hammering guitars rhythms and one irresistible hook after another, Minority Rules reflects this young urban punk group’s life experiences.
The band spent all of 2005 on the road! Along the way, they toured with Suicide Machines, Tsunami Bomb, Catch 22, Suicide Girls, The F-Ups, A Wilhelm Scream, Emanuel, Big D & the Kids Table, Gym Class Heroes, Bedouin Soundclash, Against All Authority, I am the Avalanche, Stretch Arm Strong and Streetlight Manifesto.
“If I put this CD in for you and you knew nothing about this band, you’d think it was the latest West Coast punk band. Fast, aggressive punk rock with hooks, WHOLE WHEAT BREAD sound like they’re right out of the OC. You’d be wrong. Hailing from Jacksonville, FL, WHOLE WHEAT BREAD is made up of three dudes who don’t buy into the fact that you have to look punk and dress punk to play punk. Wearing baggy jeans and big chains, the three members of WHOLE WHEAT BREAD do what they want to do and dress how they want to dress, not buying into the scene shit that plagues us today. What a novel concept! All 11 songs are catchy as shit and invite you to sing-along and pump your fists in the air.” – AMP Magazine
